I note differing arguments that can be heated due due interpretation and whereas I make the following assertions they are only to assert my use of the English language to communicate logic and feelings.

I will forego pre-birth except to say that at birth warmth is the most essential item and awareness of this new environment. After warmth, fluid is the next sensual awareness and in most animals that may come from the previous hosts and in mammals the mammary glands.
The awareness of smell although present at birth is soon to be associated with warmth and fluid, sweet at that and so to taste.

These early awarenesses are not a temporary issue, with the associated sound there follows a focus of sight. And so we have the evolvement of awareness via the senses.

It take some time to aggregate sensory awareness to enable the acquisition of those fundamentals of warmth and fluid.

Logic now plays it's part and is used with the other four senses mentioned to sustain the warmth a and fluid, touch is the an intermediary as it senses the essentials directly without logic having to assess the value of the object now experienced.

Later along the road of consumerism there is a realisation that resources are not just limited by their existence but on increasing effort as competition increases and personal intellectual and physical diminish. Along this road of realisation there is a profound acknowledgment of logic and a persons ability to use it, invariably to acquire a stable store of the essentials. However it cannot go unnoticed that logic itself is not a consumer, 2 plus 2 may be counted as four but the 2 and 2 still exist.

Counting is logic applied to the future, a frail resource, the future. Most futures imagined are just replicas of past desires, not really anything new. The addiction of using the mind to ensure future comforts degrades the minds ability to be used for consciousness.

The initial intellectual awareness has now created a prison of expectations and woe betide any person or animal that doesn't conform, or plant that is not useful to ensuring warmth and fluidity.

Sustainability of planetary resources, sun, warmth, water, and values such as freedom of movement become an ever increasing demand on the mind whilst the mind is hell bent on supplying the body with the essentials first noted.

But that desire will pass, slowly or in the blink of an eye, so consciousness is an option for those fed up with awareness.

I quote "radiance, transparency, absence" It may be attractive to be radiant and promise the future, or better to be transparent and alow other to devise thier own future, but what would it be like to give up all power and be absent.

Consider a resource such as an apple tree, ok not very warm but not ice and sweet and juicy, who would take of the fruit of the tree. But do you radiate the fruit? Do you pick more than you can eat and give the excess to others, and shine, or do you take only want you want to eat and leave others to make their own selection of delights. But if it's to be sustainable then take nothing, be absent from the pickings.

From the sun to the invisible space and consciousness. As logic infers, what is cannot not be. Immortality is a property of consciousness and devoid of matter and energy. Matter and energy are the foci of awareness.

I may feel the pain of others as I can empathise through logic, but logic tells me also that there is no sustainable way of relieving pain. Being aware of suffering there is a temptation to use it to enhance the future by trying to limit the cause, as if there would be no offset somewhere else. How many rabbits have to die to keep one cat alive. Matter or energy it's all the same, the sun is not the saviour more the devil in disguise ~ a really big rabbit to feed billions of cats for billions of years until the big rabbit in the sky dies.

If there is a value indicated by logic, the message, is the mind has to transfer focus away from unsustainable resources no matter how warm and loving it feels and go beyond the future to the present.

So it it were a tree as so many philosophies portray let's have a look.

The root of awareness is shocked at birth as the mind turns to Warmth, Fluid, Smell, Taste, Sound, Light. Only the first two Warmth and Fluidity are deemed essential the others are tools for the awareness.

The mind has automatic options in terms of heat, the most important 'essential' radiation or close contact with an energetic body. The body reacts quickly to overheating by moving away if possible.

When the essential are acquired the mind can drift away from awareness and look at itself, what it does and how it does it and why, yet never is there a permanent answer. There can be no beginning to immortal consciousness, no objects to be aware of, no time to interrupt the feeling of being,

If the mind is a tree rooted in awareness then consumption is the only future, however if the mind uses logic, a sustainable resource all is not possible as in the future will tell but the all is and the mind will open to the the eternal.

As this opening is a path it can allegorised as the branches of a tree wherein that the focus is not to feed the tree but to free the roots from the binding of the future.

To find the qualities of consciousness, such as immortality, needs be to leave this earth either \slowly or in the blink of an eye. What will be found exists here and now, just look at yourself your spirit cannot die if your soul acquires immortality.
