Food AvailabilityUpdated: July 3rd, 2017

This construct is not as simple as looking at the package and assuring each of us has the standardised amount, anywhere between 1K for a sedentary small person to 16K or more for a heffing huge hunk. (Get data for these claims)
What is an issue, is not just availability as previously noted but the intellect, the latter again being shunted to later.
Calories for reasons to be clarified, although available as heat, re: cold blooded creatures, are commonly obtained from plants, which have DNA providing photosynthetic ability.
For reasons that are obscure at this point, the calories are gathered by metabolism and it is this metabolism that is the juncture of choice where I choose to lay way to.
I am not a medic and have no knowledge of metabolism other than the basic logic I choose to acquire. Needless to say these calories are available primarily in seeds, all hail the budding plant. Calories are also available as sugars etc in fruit and here lies the issue; whereas there are other sources (animals and fats) seeds and fruit are the primary source that most animals turn to.
I assume a metabolic issue here, that is the sugars in fruit are more easily absorbed that the starches in seeds. And so the query now becomes in earnest, how much more do you have to eat if you eat starches, to allow for the mechanical metabolic process that in itself must require energy and (++++) than the calories obtained from fruit with next to no effort?
++++ (The pluses refer to many things including the micro-nutrients required to feed the metabolic engine)
