Good to speak with you yesterday.
As per our conversation for a system needed for short range land surveying, please find below to some of the key products I would recommend to construct a suitable platform.
We discussed various flight controllers including the DJI Naza M V2, Pixhawk 2 and EagleTree Vector and I understand that you had a concern about using closed source flight controllers and wanted a more flexible option. The Pixhawk and the Vector would be more in that direction but to replicate the results of the Naza would not come as easily.
My advise would be to opt for the Naza, due to your very simple requirements and expectations of the system, and I also appreciate perhaps your knowledge is limited in the R/C world currently. I don't necessarily see a huge advantage for you in opting for the more complex system.
