Food and Feedback
August 5th, 2014Food or fuel is anything consumed to be transformed to other form and or energy, energy which is arguably another form.
Being a consumer I can be very fussy about my intake and the process of acquisition is also something I acquire.
I can't remember my thoughts from there to some other place but it paused at Feedback. I assessed that what ever I get, as a consequence of choice is feedback and that what is fed back to me, is solely of my doing.
Feedback no more comes from another person than the ball that bounces from a wall. That I know too few of the properties of the ball and the wall to anticipate the rebound that results, in being hit by the rebound, originates in my action of throwing the ball at he wall. It makes no sense then to criticise the ball or wall for the properties they are bound to express when put under such force as I choose.
Money
July 23rd, 2014Hard to avoid, a pain to gain and demanding to be spent and saved.

The TSB has a Current Account called Classic Plus which gives 5% interest on the first £2000 credit and none for amounts above that.
However looking at the relevant interests as a percent of amounts above £2000 you will see it is a good deal. Add to that it appears to be the most ethical bank on the high street, it would seem odd not to take up their offer.
You will need to credit the account with £500 per month and go register for on-line banking and select to remove paper statements.
Dusk of the Wild
May 19th, 2014According to an article1 in The Independent, we have left the 12,000 year period know as the Holocene age and entered a new epoch @ 1950 primarily due to the mass on exploitation during and subsequent the great wars of the 20th century.
It is being named the Anthropocene age, as man is now the mover of ten times more land mass than volcanoes and earthquakes; this and other effects are stratified in the geological structure of the earth. There is a radio active marker that will leave an indelible print of the beginning of this age, but it is not the radio activity that is a problem.
- CO2 and sea levels are rising.
- There is a collection of plastic rubbish caught in the pacific twice the size of the USA
- areas of a Cornish beach are 30% micro-plastic.2
- Animal biomass is almost all of human design; some 40% human and 55% of animals bred for humans. Only 4 to 5 percent of animal biomass is now formed by wild life.
We are unfettered consumers and transformers of the earth, and although individuals have know they are and have practised restraint. And whereas co-operation has been used to further exploitation of physical resources, this co-operation is being touted to manage the same resources. Still the few that do practice restraint for co-operative reasons must surely see that the only outcome will be to leave the resource to another to consume.
Restraint is only good for the soul and only if it's fun.

March 18th, 2014Infrequently I pause in thought,or at least try to, as the air is drawn and expelled in my habit to consume. Even if I were truly alone wouldn't the fire of energy drive this animal engine.
Math & The Vucuum
March 3rd, 2014Where something exists there is space. This space is not lost but filled with form: the limiting factor of possibility. A vacuum has infinite potential in terms of what it attracts.
Adding to space
Mathematics is an understanding, of the relationship of concepts. The language and syntax are developed as tools to aid the understanding of those who do not have an innate experience of the depth of feeling of infinite space.
The intellectual process of investigation is linear in that one discovery leads to another and the development of the language clarifies the process of mental rigours.
Whereas I may not know, innately the answer to an apparent question, the answer always exist and there really is no question. The question is just one way of finding a concept, a concept that may come intuitively for another.
The first well documented foray into maths is the understanding of natural numbers, that is those used for counting: from one to infinity. There is no zero in counting and, in theory, no upper limit; one can be added to any number no matter how large. In fact any number can be added to any number and the result will be another natural numbers. This set of numbers is noted by a capital N and every whole number from one to infinity is an element of N {1,2,3 e N} or {a,b,c... e N}

Addition is the process of whereby starting in the number line with one of the numbers to be summed the other is counted along the line, the last being the sum of the two numbers
