The right to be

January 26th, 2014

Sitting by a wood fire having just eaten some oats and apple I have the space to write of what I think as the beans cook and the rain drifts.

One small being in a human dominated landscape

With all the demands on those I am close to, I am told I will be alone, and here I am!

Hardy a soul wouldst visit, and others will call to have their trinkets sorted, or as nepotistic duty binds: Ah! hear the phone as I write.

Here the mind pulls on my brain to fathom seemingly important queries, although I know they are trifle only to be gorged by those already bursting with insatiable vacancy.

Are men pretty useless parents and should die or are all beings equal and should be fed?

Human, being, animal, machine, food, opportunity, strength (size, number, intelligence), art, AI

Should the right to food exist for all preceding elements, then just as a machine needs fuel so an artificial intelligence may deem it food. So should we fed the Matrix, and if the Matrix has a right to live, what use then is woman also: forgo the man ~ forget the woman.

That we consider the rights and wrongs of human endeavour and consumption is arguably not something the Matrix would consider other than as fuel and efficiency, and society agrees. Society feeds those that support it. In the short term it is arguable that parents only feed their children until they can feed them selves and add to general benevolent running of the family machine.

There are preferences, but with billions of billions all striving to consume to grow and only one universal resource to feed upon, each being the others meal, there is no right to food.

Then wherein wouldst thee dwell if not this matrix of devouring gore, this womb of consumption.

Abuse too

December 27th, 2013

Is it: abnormal use or abominable use

abuse (n.)
(Earlier in Middle English was abusion "wicked act or practice, shameful thing, violation of decency" (early 14c.), "an insult" (mid-14c.).)

abuse (v.)
early 15c., "to misuse, misapply," from Middle French abuser, from Vulgar Latin *abusare, from Latin abusus "an abusing, using up," past participle of abuti "use up," also "misuse," from ab- "away" (see ab-) + uti "use" (see use). Of sexual situations from early 15c., but originally incest, homosexuality, prostitution, etc.; meaning "to misuse sexually, ravish" is from 1550s. Specifically of drugs, from 1968. Related: Abused; abusing.

ab-
a formal element occurring in loanwords from Latin, where it meant “away from”: abdicate; abolition.
Also, a-, abs-.

Origin:
< Latin ab (preposition and prefix) from, away, cognate with Greek apó, Sanskrit ápa, German ab, English of1 , off

None of the above seem to fill much of my understanding. One thing it is,is a type of use. Three types of abuse that are frequently noted are ecological, human and animal.

Recognition of animal abuse and more so environmental abuse lag chronological that of human abuse, yet the ecological version is currently more news worthy as it affects large areas of the planet and millions if not billions or all of mankind. That the acknowledged destruction covers other animals is of little consequence when we are destroying the air we breath and water we drink, so let's not dwell on the abuse as environmental and consider human abuse, the one we recognise in our youth.

Common,Social and Civil

December 13th, 2013

The three powers.
Common to all is the power to do what though will, to kill and be killed, to steal and to be stolen from. There is a general expectation that the more powerful will survive.

Social. Given individual weakness the majority gang up and create laws for themselves that try to limit by threat or take revenge by justified argument from the powerful but weaker opponent by sheer numbers rather than an individual's strength. Each person is subject to the rules and laws of the society they are born into. These are primarily National laws as the Nation is the most power group that can enforce. Social laws are deemed to help everyone, so that society does not feel to guilty about the price individuals have to forego by being born into a competetive world where cooperation is deemed essential.

These ruels and laws

Civil are laws created amongst groups that unlike social law do not extend beyond those making the agreement.

Most problems in the rich nations are civil problems in bad deals and broken hearts, they are not society's problem and social justice will trump such a concern for damages sought.

Social Security

October 11th, 2013

In a competative world do I fed my enemy, and even in co-operative ventures do I always ensure I get the best or better deal. Fear of being used and abused, tortured and consumed is a basic animal nature.

However being born in an environment where my basic needs for warmth and sustenance was provided I never learnt what a nasty creature I really am.

Those who came before me and those others that have greater resources than I would have me think I am weak and have to co-operate with them. They lay down rules for me to follow to be able to continue to enjoy my comforts, quite simply I just have to conform.

The problem arose that as I had ample basics I had time to think and nothing made any sense unless I treated anyone less fortunate than me the same. Whether I considered someone weaker as a consequence of the colour of their skin or their gender wasn't the issue. What became clear was that if a person identified with a group, for security then that security was limited by the strength of the group.

So although I use the group to consume and despise that I do, I do so with frivolity and seriousness, passion and dispair. This animal being is no match for the logic it knows yet intellect is able to spin it out when there is threat to comfort enjoyment and survival.

Multiple Attractions

September 27th, 2013

The petals of the lotus indicate not only the plethora of deities that may be guides to the immortal soul but distractions from the core notion.

Centripetal attraction, the motion of spheres is a result of multiple attractions as described by gravity, mass or importance. If there were only two forms then each would attract the other and be one.

But in space three cannot be equally separated and so there is a major and minor attraction, the minor always distracting that inclined to the major, hence the spiral. The centripetal motion appearing to counter gravity is anything but, it is just the play between the major and minor chords of attraction.
